YouTube is preparing to share the ad revenue with shorts creators

A recent report published in The New Your Times says that the YouTube is preparing to share the ad revenue even with the short creators. According to an audio from YouTube all hands meeting which was obtained by The New York Times, YouTube plans to introduce ads in YouTube Shorts by the beginning of 2023. YouTube will share the revenue with the creators as well.

The vice president of product management and creator products Mr. Amjad Hanif said during the meeting that the payments will really help the creators to understand, why YouTube is the best platform to start with your Shorts career. He added that YouTube will allow Sorts creators to use popular music with their videos will allow the creators to make money from the content as well. And not like before when the revenue generated from the music used used to go to the copyright holders of the music.

The New York times reports Mr. Hanif giving a statement that,”it is the largest expansion we have done in several years creating news ways for creators to join the program”

According to the reports The company is planning to pay the creators 45% of the ad revenue generated from Shorts. Whereas the normal video creators on YouTube have traditionally received 55% of the revenue from the ads that play before and during videos on the platform.
