Camila Cabello, let’s know the Señorita better

Camila Cabello was conceived by Alejandro Cabello and Sinuhe Estrabao in Havana, Cuba. She was raised in the East Havana community of Cojmar. Her father is a Mexican who emigrated to Cuba and was born in Mexico City. Cabello and her family spent most of their childhood moving between Havana and Mexico City. Cabello moved to Miami, Florida, in the United States with her mother when she was six years old; her father, who was unable to get a visa at the time, joined the family about 18 months later. In 2008, Cabello became a citizen of the United States.

She went to Miami Palmetto High School, but left while she was a ninth-grader in the 2012–2013 academic year, to pursue her career in singing. She finished her High School diploma afterwards.

She has a younger sister named Sofia.

CAREER

Camila Cabello tried out for the television show The X Factor in Greensboro, North Carolina, but her audition was not aired because the series didn’t get the rights for the song. After elimination during the “Bootcamp” in Miami, Florida, Cabello was called back to the stage alongside different candidates Ally Brooke, Normani, Lauren Jauregui, and Dinah Jane to form the group that would later be known as Fifth Harmony.

They finished in third place on the show, and they signed a joint deal with Syco Music, which is owned by Simon Cowell, and Legendary Records, L.A. Reid’s record label. Fifth Harmony announced Cabello’s departure on December 18, 2016, with both parties providing contradictory explanations for her departure. After that, she never looked back and got recognized worldwide for her voice, and her songs.

Cabello, who is primarily a pop singer, has a soprano vocal range. She grew up listening to artists such as Alejandro Fernández and Celia Cruz. Her debut studio album is a pop record influenced by Latin music. The album incorporates elements of reggaeton, hip hop, and dancehall and was inspired by contemporary Latin artists such as Calle 13 and J Balvin, as well as the songwriting of Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran. Her sophomore album was inspired by the “big sounds” of the 1980s and Queen. She has also cited Michael Jackson, Rihanna, Shakira, Alejandro Sanz, David Bisbal, Alejandro Fernández, Maná, Beyoncé, John Mayer, Demi Lovato, and Eminem as influences.

Cabello has won two Latin Grammy Awards, four American Music Awards, a Billboard Music Award, five MTV Europe Music Awards, two iHeartRadio Music Awards, four MTV Video Music Awards, three iHeartRadio Much Music Video Awards, and a Billboard Women in Music award for Breakthrough Artist.
